Trademark registration

  • Conducting a preliminary check of the trademark (TM).
  • Gathering necessary information from the future owner of the TM.
  • Filing the TM application.
  • Directly managing the paperwork for the submitted application.
  • Obtaining the registration certificate and transferring it to the owner.

The first stage of the preliminary check is not mandatory, however, conducting a search through databases of already registered and filed trademarks will help determine the likelihood of successfully registering your TM. It will also provide recommendations if identical or similar TMs are found. Most importantly it will save your time and money and help avoid situations where registration might be refused due to identity or similarity.

The actual process of TM registration takes approximately 14-20 months, depending on the need for additional actions during the paperwork process.

During the examination of the TM application, it may be necessary to make changes to the application itself, transfer the right to obtain the certificate to another person or respond to a preliminary decision of the examination regarding the possible refusal of TM registration.

Upon successful completion of the examination and payment of the state fee, you will receive a registration certificate for the trademark.

The TM certificate is valid for 10 years from the date of the application filing, and this period can be extended as many times as necessary for your business and to keep your TM relevant.
